dangerous grounds

dangerous grounds
Modern Rhapsody, 1957 - Salvador Dali

To be wanted on such dangerous grounds,
light up a cigarette
and smoke her
till her very last breath.
Must be sure
Must be real
Spin her a line
It’s easy as 1,2,3
And sure, she’ll spill.
So plain in display
insecure frame of view,
calls it art and a day
nothing new.

Anything sacred to you?

A deer in a spotlight...
you desperately want there
to be a connection,
at force of will.
But you need to ask
Aloud
again and again
is it real,
if you are foiled in worry
convinced your face
will glue a mirror, love
at force of will?
While you hug the drum of anxiety,
claim love
as your pet,
so sure of connection,
even if the line
is mixed with obvious tones
of malignant disrespect.
