death by over compassion
can you actually kill a thing with too much compassion?
yes.
yes, you can & I did exactly that.
I'll show you how so you can avoid the mistake I made.
Or copy me, entirely up to you.

the playground for a 9-year-old girl involved three activities only:
- hang with the cool girl group called 'luscious'
- sit and watch the boys play football
or
3. kill through over compassion.
You can see which I preferred.
it was warm, June, the sun was out and I had brought my bag of marbles in to play. The marbles were left with the group– instead, the bag became my net.
A self-imposed mission called me to action. My mission?
To spend the One and Only day on earth with Daddy Long Legs. Someone had told me they only lived for one day and it filled me with sadness, I mean who wants to spend their only day on earth alone?
I'd run out of class, empty my marbles and get to work. After all the running and jumping I'd catch at best three. Then spend the remaining time I had on the grass, with what I thought was the final words they'd ever hear. Whatever words of wisdom a 9 yr old can offer, I gave it– wholeheartedly.
Only until recently did I realise that I could have actually been the cause of their death. I told a friend about their life span of a day. He could not believe it.
"You probably killed them" –
"What, no– I was there for them? I heard they only live for one day and wanted to spend it with them!"
"you definitely killed them"
Googles the inevitable.
Oops.
death by compassion was real.
it was a 10-day lifespan,
not 1.
